Connexion2 Raising Money for St Luke’s Hospice, Sheffield

Ten Connexion2 employees will take part in the 10km run through Sheffield City Centre on 2nd September 2012 to raise money for the hospice which provides care and support for adults with incurable diseases across Sheffield. St Luke's rely largely on the generosity of the community to help raise funds to provide both in-patient and community-based care to those with life-limiting illnesses.

The care provided by St Luke's Hospice extends beyond the hospice building with the community nurses travelling to the homes of patients throughout the city to offer support throughout patients' illnesses, helping to ensure they have the best quality of life. St Luke's are using the Identicom lone worker device to offer protection to the community nurses who travel to the homes of patients. They also help to relieve pain from symptoms and offer flexible choices about where they want to be looked after.

The award-winning Identicom will be provided to the community nurses, allowing them to discreetly raise an alert if they feel vulnerable, helping staff have peace of mind when working throughout the community and travelling to multiple locations in unsociable hours.
